2nd RND for Bloc Party

blocparty
If and when I post about music it means I have been listening to it for about three days straight. The new Bloc Party album A Weekend In The City is in heavy rotation. The way the group has progressed from Silent Alarm is outstanding. The over all theme of the album is simplicity. A contrast to the past. I have read that Kele Okereke (lead vocals / guitar) wanted listeners to feel the desolation and loneliness that fills our modern city life. There is no abstract lyrics to misinterpret therefor more focused and organized. Feel the pain of "Kreuzburg", dance to "Hunting for Witches" and start a riot with "Uniform". Give this whole album a run through and you will find yourself growing on it. Watch the music video for "I Still Remember" from the Bloc Party's new release.

iConcertCal Rocks the Dates

iConcert-Cal
A new iTunes plugin just recently developed is iConcertCal. The facts are - completely free plugin that monitors your music library and generates personalized calendars of upcoming concerts in your city. Runs on Mac OS X and Windows. iConcertCal searches site like Pollstar and will update your concert info once a week. It's fool proof, just click on the show and it takes you to the venue website. I'm guessing sooner or later the next bridge to be gapped is tickets will be purchased through your AppleID.

The Final eXam.

xgames
Had to put this post in as the X games came to an end at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen/Snowmass. This was the 11th Winter X Games and by far the most impressive. Not only were all the top athletes present but the Aspen attendance record was broken with a reported 31,200 people at the snowboard superpipe event . The biggest trick of all events included speed, air, style, power and maybe a crash. This year brought a new event Snowmobile Freestyle which by far was the most death-defying. The soundtrack to X Games was none other than Lupe Fiasco. Check out the results, athlete bios, pics and videos here.

One Year for Stern and Satellite

stern
It's the one year anniversary for the Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satellite Radio and I must say it gets better with age. Howard and the crew are constantly adding new outrageous content from new wackpackers to the infamous sybian. The radio from the sky is the new frontier for audio entertainment. I joined the revolution a month after Howard ran his first show on January, 9th 2006. Once your receiver acquires the satellite feed you never want to go back to terrestrial radio again. It's just too boring, most the music is lame and ohh yea it's censored. The programing on Sirius is like no other giving you the best music and entertainment your money can buy. I don't care what the XM population have to say. Since Stern joined Sirius he added approximately 2.7 million subscribers which has a bill around $700 million. The content/advertising war between Sirius and XM may go on for years before one of them is eaten buy a big player in the industry like Motorola. With Stern's 5 year contract with Sirius there is much more fun to be had. You know The Throwing Star will be basking in the filth of entertainment. The Howard Stern Show has officially uplifted the common traffic jam.
